Found this in some of my old files. C-17 crew at Oshkosh 2007 were apparently having problems with the nose gear and decided to go all Jalop and just jack her up and have a look.
Made me wonder; since they weren't local, do they just fly around with those stands stored in the aircraft?

To answer your question: depends on the plane and the mission.
I don't know if the C-17 carries those all the time, but I know that some planes carry stuff like tow adapters and ladders around all the time.

Nope. Prolly not at Harbor Freight, either.

Darn, they'd be cheaper there.

... and they'd for sure last at least one job.

Definitely safer than a pump jack alone...

This made me giggle more than most things I've read this week.
